Marigold Launches Radon Screening Kits
Strathmore, AB - Marigold Library System, in partnership with the Alberta Lung Association and with support from Health Canada, is excited to announce they now have Radon Kits available for checkout!
According to the Alberta Lung Association, radon is an invisible, odourless, and tasteless radioactive gas which can get trapped in the home. Therefore, the only way to detect how much radon is in your home is to test for it. This is important as long-term exposure to high levels of radon can lead to lung cancer.
Marigold patrons can now place holds and check-out one of our 18 Radon Kits for three weeks. These kits are intended as an initial screening only, as long-term testing of three months is required to get an accurate average radon level reading in a home. These kits will be unavailable in the summer as radon levels are naturally lower during the summer months.
