eBooks for Mobile Devices
Duration: 1.5 hours
Minimum Participants: 2

Interested in borrowing library eBooks on your tablet or smartphone? We can help! Learn all about the eBook services currently available at your library through the Marigold Library System. These services are available through free apps for your mobile devices (Apple or Android). You are encouraged to bring along your mobile device to follow along. Please bring your library card. (*please note, if you do not download the eBook apps prior to the presentation, please ensure you know your App Store login information to allow you to download the apps at the presentation.)

Learn all about the eBook services currently available at your library through the Marigold Library System. These services are available for your PC to download library eBooks and then transfer them to your dedicated eReader. You are encouraged to bring along your laptop and eReader to follow along. Please bring your library card. (*please note, Kindle eReaders are not compatible with library eBooks as Amazon chooses not to license in Canada.)

eNewspapers & eMagazines
Duration: 1 hour

Library PressDisplay gives you instant access to 3000+ newspapers from 100 countries in 60 languages and  Zinio for Libraries gives you access to 90+ of the most popular magazines – all for free on your PC or tablet! You are invited to bring your laptop or mobile device to follow along.

eReader Test Drive
Duration: 1 hour

e-Readers and tablets are more popular than ever. This informative presentation familiarizes you on what kind of e-Readers and tablets are available, what features they have, price ranges, and what criteria to use when choosing a device for you or your loved ones. We will have several models available for you to pick up, look over and test drive!

  • Hoopla - Learn how to borrow and stream videos, music albums, and audiobooks.
  • Freegal - Learn how to search for and download songs to keep (MP3 format).
  • NoveList Plus / NoveList K - 8 - Learn how to use NoveList to boost your Reader's Advisory service and help patrons of all ages find their next great read.
  • TumbleBook Library - Learn all about the features of TumbleBook Library, including popular picture books turned into interactive cartoons, read-alongs, language learning, and more.
  • Grant Connect - Learn how to use this in-library tool to aid grantseeking.
  • SOLARO - NEW! From the creators of THE KEY Study Guides - SOLARO provides study help and exam prep based on Alberta curriculum for grades 3 through 12. Covers Mathematics, English Language Arts, and Science.
  • EBSCO Databases - Several of our reasearch databases are EBSCO products. This means that they are searchable in similar ways - learn how to search one and you've learned them all! (includes Academic Search Elite, ALT Health Watch, Canadian Reference Center, Health Source, MasterFILE Premier, Science Reference Center).
Your Library is Mobile (Library Apps)

Your mobile device gives you free access to several library services. Whether Apple or Android, you can enjoy eBooks, learn a new language, download music, and much more, all on-the-go! You are encouraged to bring along your mobile device to follow along. Please bring your library card.
