You will have to log in for access to each database individually. NOTE: Some of these resources are also available when you are logged in to search the TRACpac catalogue.

Searching for information and articles:

• use several key words or subject terms to obtain the most relevant material
• narrow or expand your search by using more or fewer key words
• each database has search tips and/or help buttons to assist you in doing a successful search

Canadian Newsstand: Full text news from almost 200 Canadian newspapers including the Calgary Herald.
CPI.Q Canadian Periodical Index Online: Includes a wealth of Canadian and international journals and magazines. The Globe and Mail; Maclean's; Canadian News Facts; and encyclopedic reference materials.

Canadian Reference Centre: Combines Canadian magazines, newspapers, newswires and reference books to create the largest collection of regional full text content available. Includes leading Canadian periodicals and international (U.S. and U.K.) periodicals in full text, full text reference books, full text biographies and an image collection.
MasterFILE Premier: Offers thousands of full text book reviews, biographies, full text articles from more than 2,000 general reference, business, consumer health, general science, and multicultural magazines. Includes biographies and an image collection.
Regional Business News: American regional newspapers and business magazines.

Business Source Elite: Provides full text for more than 1,100 scholarly business journals, including 500 peer-reviewed business publications. Presents information dating back to 1985 and detailed company profiles for the world's 10,000 largest companies.

Auto Repair Reference Center: Contains information on most manufacturers of domestic and imported vehicles. Includes repair procedures, wiring diagrams, service bulletins and recalls, factory drawings, specifications and maintenance schedules.
Hobbies and Crafts Reference Center: Offers detailed how-to in structions and creative ideas to interest virtually every hobby-enthusiast. Content is grouped into eight categories: Arts and Crafts, Collecting, Electron ics and Games, Home and Leisure, Model Building, Needlecrafts and Textiles, Outdoors and Nature, Scrapbooking and Paper Crafts. Includes full text for over 450 magazines and books, as well as videos and hobby reports.
Home Improvement Reference Center: Provides assistance with home maintenance and remodeling, plumbing and electrical work, and wood projects.
Small Engine Repair Reference Center: Comprehensive coverage for repair of generators, snowblowers and mowers, and other small engines.

Canadian Points of View Reference Centre: Designed to provide students with a series of essays that present multiple sides of a current issue. It provides the basis from which students can realize and develop persuasive arguments and essays, better understand controversial issues and develop analytical thinking skills.
Career Cruising: is an online career guidance and planning system. The database features career assessment tools, detailed occupational profiles for over 500 careers, and comprehensive post secondary education information for Canada and the United States. In addition to 900 multimedia career interviews, users can create resumes and explore Canadian apprenticeship programs, job descriptions, working conditions, related jobs and sample career paths.

Education Research Complete: Offers the world s largest collection of full text education journals. Covers scholarly research and information relating to all areas of education.
Education Resources Information Center (ERIC): Provides access to education literature and resources. Contains more than one million records and links to more than 100,000 full text documents.

Canadian Encyclopedia: Canadian topics explained in English and French.
Canada Info Desk: Includes Canadian Almanac & Directory, Associations Canada, Directory of Libraries in Canada, Canadian Environmental Directory, Government Canada and Financial Services Canada.
Consumer Reports: An electronic version of the well-known publication. Find frequently updated consumer information on cars, appliances, electronics, baby gear, food products and more. Includes ratings, reviews, expert buying advice, product comparisons and product video clips. With no outside advertising, information is unbiased.
Encyclopedia Britannica Online: Searchable encyclopedia with recommended websites, interactive atlas and more.
World Book Online Reference Center: A general resource for adults and students, which includes more than 26,000 articles and more than 12,000 pictures and maps. Also includes many entries in Spanish.
World Book Kids: For younger users. Offers simple navigation, easy to read articles, thousands of illustrations, engaging activities, and teacher resources.

ALT Health Watch: Full text information on alternate, holistic and integrated approaches to health care and wellness includes peer-reviewed journals, hundreds of pamphlets, booklets, special reports, original research and book excerpts.
Health Source Consumer Edition: A rich collection of consumer health information. Features searchable full text for nearly 300 journals. Topics include medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine and general health.

Ancestry Library Edition: (in-library access only) Offers a wide range of unique resources for genealogical and historical research. Contains more than 5 billion names in over 3,400 databases, and includes records from the United States census; military records; court, land, and probate records; vital and church records; directories; passenger lists, and more. Similar information is also available for the United Kingdom, Canada and some European countries.
Heritage Quest Online: Includes all of the images, and extensive indexing, from the 1790 - 1930 U.S. federal censuses. It offers more than 20,000 book titles, including nearly 8,000 family histories and over 12,000 local histories. Additionally, there are more than 250 primary-source documents such as tax lists, city directories, probate records, and more.
