Paperbacks-by-Mail for Marigold Residents

Paperbacks-by-Mail (PBM) service is generally used by people who are unable to use a public library or who live far from a public library. In March 2012 this service will be called Library to You or L2U. Stay tuned!

Registration information for residents — by phone, fax or mail:
If you live in a municipality that participates in Marigold call 1-800-332-1077 to register for PBM service, or print the application form and mail or fax (403-934-5331) it to headquarters. Each family member should have their own card. There is no cost for a library card from PBM - headquarters and your card is valid for 2 years.

If you get your library card from PBM -  headquarters you intend to use PBM service most of the time. Paperbacks-by-Mail offers you:

  • 2 catalogues a year – choose any book(s) you want. Current catalogue:
  • free  return labels – this means no mailing costs for the customer
  • the opportunity to request materials not in the PBM catalogue (for example from the TRACpac catalogue)

Support your local library: if you will be visiting a public library on a regular basis we encourage you to get your library card from the public library rather than through PBM - headquarters.

With a library card the world is at your fingertips!
Once your application is received your library card(s) will be mailed to you along with a catalogue and a blue request card. Your library card also gives you access to enhanced resources and services.

  • Find credible information using Marigold’s e-resources -- search from home, or anywhere else with Internet.
  • Place a hold or renew borrowed material in TRACpac, our online catalogue, using your library barcode number and PIN. You have access to over 3 million items.
  • Use your card in over 290 libraries across Alberta. (This includes most college and special libraries)

Note: Marigold partners with Shortgrass, and  Chinook Arch  Library Systems for PBM service. If you live in these areas contact your System headquarters for information about registering for PBM.
