Marigold supports Becoming a Community Builder

Marigold one of proud sponsors of Becoming a Community Builder initiative:  Town of Strathmore and Wheatland County have been selected as a Lighthouse Community as part of a Province-wide Becoming a Community Builder initiative. The project‘s mandate is to grow community leadership capacity throughout Rural Alberta. Marigold Library System is a proud sponsor of this initiative.Two headquarters staff are on the steering committee.

Michelle Tombs, CEO, noted: “Excellent leadership is essential to Marigold Library System. From our headquarters staff to our local boards and member libraries, leadership is required at every level to provide important library services to our communities. Of course, being part of strong communities is also essential — strong community advocates contribute to the success of our member libraries.”  Other sponsors include the County of Wheatland and Town of Strathmore through the efforts of many other local community builders. Becoming a Community Builder is a competency based, community and professional leadership development program. The program offers two distinct learning tracks: one for adult community members and the other for high school students. It will be offered free of charge to an unlimited number of participants throughout Strathmore and Wheatland County starting October 18.
