Cataloguer – Bibliographic Services
Marigold Library System – Strathmore, Alberta
Marigold Library System is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its team at the Headquarters office in Strathmore, Alberta. The cataloguer is responsible for the timely, accurate original or copy cataloguing of materials for member libraries. Responsibilities also include maintenance of TRAC (The Regional Automation Consortium) bibliographic and authority records.
Education and Experience Required
Graduate of a recognized Library Technician program
Demonstrated knowledge of cataloguing rules and procedures (i.e. AACR2R, DDC 23, and MARC 21)
Experience working with an ILS such as Polaris
Experience working in a library and/or cataloguing department an asset
Excellent verbal, aural, and written communication skills
Strong customer service skills
Attention to detail, a high degree of accuracy, and strong organization skills
Ability to work independently within a team-oriented environment
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
Marigold Library System provides cost-effective public library services for over 234,000 residents of south central Alberta through 35 member libraries, 14 paperback deposits and a Paperbacks By Mail service.
